Question:
Will a three bedroom cottage be large enough to accommodate Princess Eugenie, her husband, and their children?

Princess Eugenie is to move into Ivy Cottage, located on the grounds of Kensington Palace. The cottage has only three bedrooms, and while more than sufficient for the average young couple, we are talking about a princess of the blood royal. Surely a country estate, however modest, should have been settled upon her at the very least, along with an official apartment at Kensington Palace and a generous living allowance. It would not do for a granddaughter of the monarch to live in squalor, which would reflect very poorly on our nation overseas. The Chinese have already lost respect for us and toy with the idea of renting Windsor Castle for birthday parties for corrupt Communist party officials and their families. It simply cannot be borne!

I think, as is often the case, you'll not find this 'cottage' is far from what most people would imagine a cottage is!! And in any case, I'd imagine once they start having a family, if they do, they will be looking for something suitable for a couple with a growing family. 'Living in squallor'? Hardly! I'm not going to lose ANY SLEEP over the living accommodation of P. Eugenie, much as I wish her well.

When and if Eugenie marries her current boyfriend, the cottage would be a good starter home for the couple.Right now, it is only for Eugenie's use. Different arrangements will have to be made to accommodate a growing family. Financial arrangements for Eugenie have nothing to do with the general public--no tax payer money is used for personal expenses for those official royals who receive an allowance to pay for official expenses. Eugenie is not an official royal and receives no official expense money. She and her husband will be responsible for their housing and personal expenses.

The Queen must intervene and not let a princess of the blood royal be seen to be living in such middle class standards. Is the cottage even detached?! We can only hope that news of this does not make international headlines. Our royals are what make us appear to still be an opulent empire to the rest of the world. We must not lose our image as the empire on which the sun never sets.

They all have a place in the city and at least one in the country.

I think the cottage at Kensington is temporary, anyway. It's well known that the York sisters and Kate loathe one another.

I've heard from a very reliable source, that eventually, Kensington will be the domain of William, Harry, their children, and their offices. BP will be used for state occasions, tourism, and offices. It will no longer be a royal residence.

As she currently has zero children, it's kind of a non-issue.

She would be renting it on her own in the first instance and would still use Royal Lodge at Windsor.

Why provide anything? Abolish the monarchy and let them earn their living
