I do hope not. He and the song make me cringe.

He sang at Princess Diana's funeral because he was the only Queen who cared.

I would certainly hope that Elton John will not be singing that song at Prince William's wedding.....I also hope that there are no performing dogs, trapeze acts, magic tricks, or drink/food vendors walking up and down the aisles during the ceremony at the Abbey.

Prince William may be the "new" face of the royal family, but the Abbey is a CHURCH.,...and a wedding is a solemn religious rite.....it is NOT Dancing With The Stars....or an occasion to spotlight aging rock stars wearing pink glasses and singing any of their "best hits from the 90's".

Of course, the Queen is getting on in years and is certainly more than weary of strife inside her family....she may be so thankful that William is marrying someone nice...and not Paris Hilton.....that she will weigh his adherence to Windsor standards as far as mate selection goes....and allow him to do pretty much whatever he wants with the ceremony.

I just hope the whole day goes well, and that the end of the day finds everyone in good spirits, and no untoward events having occurred during the day.

EDIT: Though I do think the Queen and Prince Charles will try to go along with whatever William's wishes are about the ceremony....I am pretty certain that, no matter how much William MAY wish it, The Earl Spencer will not be allowed to make any public speeches at either the wedding or the wedding reception.

All of the royal family have had QUITE ENOUGH of the Earl Spencer and anything he might wish to say.

Oh! So many thumbs downs to Mike K - when he's absolutely right!

That greedy queen Elton John wrote "Candle in the Wind" for Marilyn Monroe (Norma Jean Baker - Good-bye Norma Jean....) I never liked that git and he proved to be a complete **** when he re-wrote that song for Diana. How cheap is that?

I didn't like Diana but there are certain things that made her a victim, and I think that nobody, not even the conniving Diana, deserves a cheap copy of a song for someone else. That Elton bloke - again - was seeking attention and was greedy enough to cash in millions with that song.

That's his character. You could see the very same thing with "Blue" when they asked him for permission to remake of what was it called again? They made a remake of that song that was a thousand times better than Elton's original. And what did he do? He couldn't have it that someone else would earn money with his song - so he joined in. They'd rather done it alone but he wouldn't let them.

because of the reality of a tale I basically study at latest,a woman named Linda Hannon consists of techniques. She's a woman who at latest lives in Texas that replaced into engaged to a suffering musician named Reginald Dwight decrease back indoors the summertime of 1970,in London's East end,who supported him and his collaborator Bernie Taupin for 2 years,in basic words to learn after a drunken night that it replaced into over. The scrub that diched her that night grew to regulate into Elton John, and she or he or he's the situation of the song "somebody stored my existence this night". After 40 years, she needs to fulfill with him mutually as he performs Texas Saturday night. She claims to now no longer be bitter approximately being dissed, and because she's in basic words emerged NOW,30+ years after his' commercial height,i do now no longer think of of she's mendacity. The stay universal overall performance handed off this night and searching for an replace could be #a million on my precedence checklist day after right now. i'm now no longer in a position to attend to paintings out how(or if) this performs out!

I have just heard on the local London news that Elton has threatened to perform for the Royal Wedding, even if it is busking outside.

And as Elton lives in Old Windsor, I could nip up to his house and slash the tyres of his cars to stop him from getting to the Abbey.

Oh, I do hope so.

Unfortunately he's much more likely to be singing "Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting"...the words are so apt for an event of such national importance.

Hello Ena,

Yes, it was a tribute to Marylin Monroe then Diana and at Prince William's wedding it would be a little too overdone... much like Amazing Grace at funerals.

Cheers,

No, he will be doing 'I'll Get You In The End" at Eddie's secret bachelor pad.

Hardly appropriate when he sang it at Diana's funeral and this is a wedding ceremony

Why would he? It's not a wedding song.

Not at all dear Ena. I understand he will be giving a special rendition of 'The B*tch is Back'. Perhaps as a veiled reference to the Duchess of Fergie?
