We all know she'll never abdicate but is it true that she has plans to retire to Balmoral Castle when Prince Philip dies and leave the bulk of royal duties to Prince Charles and Camilla?

Charles would be acting as a sort of prince-regent.

Monarchs don't retire, retirement means abdication and the Queen has stated many times she will never do that. She is cutting back on her duties and handing more to Charles and other members of the family but she does turn 90 this year.

How many times does the Queen have to say she's in the job 'for life'? Only in the event she becomes mentally incapable would she be forced to retire. She may, as she is already, do less and less as the years pass, but that's all. And just like Q.Victoria did after Albert died, she may well withdraw to somewhere like Balmoral, but that wouldn't be the same as retiring.

NO. The Queen will never retire. She vowed to be in the job for all the days of her life, whether they be short or long. She may have Charles take on more duties, but the Queen will remain monarch until she dies. The UK monarchy doesn't believe in retiring or abdication in favor of the younger generation. They feel it degrades the position, to just throw off one's birth-given duties.

Queen Elizabeth II has vowed NEVER to retire and will reigh until the day she dies, hopefully a very long way off. Charles and his ex mistress may take on more duties but he will ONLY become king when his mother dies. So no, in that sense she will NEVER retire..

There is no provision in the British Constitution that allows a reigning monach to "retire" from his or her duty. Unless she abdicates (which is not the same as retiring), she will be Queen until the day of her death.

Prince Philip is immortal according to the people of Vanuatu. I believe them too, because how many other religions actually know where their God is? They do.

Never. She appears to be more at ease since her mother's death. If Philip were to die, she could be monarch for another sixty years.

She might go into mourning for a time, but, so long as she still has her strength, she'll be back.
