What would be Queen Maxima's style if her husband predeceases her?

I mean they say a king/queen will always be a king/queen but that's not always the case especially if one is abdicated monarch, has rule to revert to former title if abdicates, etc. Queen Beatrix abdicated and reverted to being a princess. She knew she would be back to being a princess. Would Queen Maxima remain a Majesty if her husband predeceases her? Thanks. This is for my premium master's and PhD degree.

She would become the Queen Mother or as the Dutch would say Koningin-Moeder

Once a King or Queen in Narnia, always a King or Queen. ie it depends on the country. In the UK they might be the Queen Mother, but some like Queen Mary didn't want that. Mrs Simpson was never Queen so her title was not affected by the abdication. In fact she was never HRH even though her husband was.



In the Netherlands they have adopted the style of Princess for their abdicated Queen regnant, whether the same would apply to consort Maxima is something that would have to be worked out at the time.

If King Willem-Alexander predeceased her, she would be Her Majesty Queen Maxima of the Netherlands, The Queen Mother.



The last Dutch queen consort was Emma of Waldeck and Pyrmont, the second wife of William III. It is helpful to look to her title and style rather than to Beatrix's.

If Queen Maxima's husband predeceased her while he was still a King then she would be a Dowager Queen. It makes no difference what his future intentions were. She would remain a Dowager Queen with the respective style of 'Majesty'.
