How long do you estimate Queen Elizabeth will live?

As she celebrates her Diamond Jubilee i think how long this reign will last, and when she dies do you think Prince Charles will abdicate and pass it onto William or do you think he will reign for as long as he can?

How old is she now 86? I reckon another 10-14 years, her Mum lived 'til she was over 100, so the Queen could too.

No I don't think he would, he's been waiting ages to be King, I don't think he'll just hand it over, but by my reckoning he'll be about 73-77 when (if) he becomes King, so he might not have much time on the throne anyway.

Well as her mum lived to 101 I think I'd say the Queen has maybe just short of 15 years left in her. I think Prince Charles will reign for a while although to be honest he doesn't look much younger than the Queen. I don't think he'll want to put the charge on Prince William too early.

The Queen isn't going anywhere soon. The Royals have notoriously good genes - they've almost all lived forever.



Charles will keep the throne for as long as he can. He has been the Prince of Wales since birth and has waited far too long to let the opportunity slip. William will inherit after Charles' reign and he will rule with his Queen by his side.

No, Prince Charles will never abdicate. He's waited a lifetime to become King, and he is the best-educated, best-prepared Prince of Wales in history.



Besides, Prince William has made it quite clear that he does not want to become King any sooner than he has to. He certainly hasn't done anything to suggest that he deserves to be King more than his father does.



People need to get over the notion that the Queen could skip over Charles and pass the throne directly to William. She can't. She does not have that power. Charles will be the next King if he doesn't predecease his mother.

I reckon that if she's anything like her mother, PLUS with the aid of more modern medical care, she could 'soldier on' for another 15 - 20 years!



She could well outlive Charles! But if he ever DOES outlive her, he'll never abdicate. The throne is his birthright.
